Creating accessible material and sourcing alternative formats

What does accessibility mean?

Accessibility is about making the information you are preparing clearer and easier for everyone to understand.

It is a set of standards which are in place to help make material accessible to people with impaired vision, motor difficulties, cognitive impairment, deafness or with hearing impairments.

We want to make sure that people do not experience barriers when accessing our services.

We can do this by:

  • making sure our information is accessible when it is being created
  • by making reasonable adjustments so that our information is available to our customers in a suitable format that meets their needs.
