Children across Glasgow were tasked recently with an exciting opportunity to design a logo that would best represent Glasgow as a child friendly city and as one of UNICEF's Child Rights Partners and the only Scottish local authority to promote the campaign.

Our schools work very hard to promote pupil voice and understand the importance of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child articles and the competition was an additional global citizenship learning opportunity for teachers and pupils to become involved in.

Bailie Liz Cameron, Executive Member for Children, Young People & Lifelong Learning said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the logo entries - we have some very talented young people in our schools.

"This was a competition to design a logo for our Child Friendly City publicity material so who better to task to design this - but children and young people!

"It was a difficult decision to choose an overall winner from the many submissions but Emma's made the grade - it is clear, simple and effective and I look forward to seeing the logo displayed around the city."

A ceremony was held recently in the City Chambers Picture Gallery where the children and young people were handed an A3 size of their designs, art vouchers and a certificate.
