Elected Members Expenses

Financial year 2023-24

Under government legislation, our Councillors are entitled to receive a remuneration package which consists of salary, subsistence, accommodation and travel expenses. Subsistence and accommodation are subject to upper limits set by regulation and are payable on production of valid receipts. Salaries are paid four weekly and this can give rise to small differences in the actual payments made from one financial year to the next.

The information below relates to Financial Year 2023-24 and includes salary data, additional expenditure and Information Technology costs for each individual Councillor. Please note that a portion of the costs for travel and accommodation for the City Convener of Culture, Sport and International Relations were met by Glasgow Life.

To assist our Councillors in carrying out their role, a programme of comprehensive training is provided. A detailed summary of the Training Register for 2023-24 is included below.

A breakdown of salary and expenses data for Councillors serving on outside bodies is also included below. This data is for information only as Glasgow City Council does not meet these costs.

Glasgow City Council also publishes annual salary and expenses data for all Chief Officers. The data for 2023-24 is noted below.
