Parkhead Housing Association

Parkhead Housing Association has completed a project to film and document the experiences and reflections of the people of the wider Parkhead area during the First World War.

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and undertaken by an independent Glasgow filmmaker the film was premiered at the Glasgow Film Theatre on 7 October 2014.

The film is 18 minutes long and includes audio footage from David Stuart Burnett, a veteran from the war (recorded around 1990), as well as video footage of some of our elderly tenants and residents who had parents and other relatives who served during the war discussing their shared memories.  Parkhead Housing Association has also included interviews from other people, including a local historian, latter day veterans and local children reflecting upon the war.
