Public Transport
Public Transport

Public transport is critical to the operation of a successful city and plays a crucial role in reducing travel by car, particularly large volumes of single-occupancy car trips such as at peak commuter times.
Glasgow has a strong public transport system with extensive rail, bus and Subway networks. We work closely with our partners at ScotRail, SPT and bus operators through the Glasgow Bus Partnership to help make sure our city's public transport offering is fit for purpose and appealing to all users. Through our partnership working and commitments to Clyde Metro, we are committed to improving public transport services for all users across the city.
You told us...
"38% of you noted that incentives and staff discounts, would make them consider switching to public transport"
"Availability of yearly bus passes would really bring the cost down for staff"
Make sure all staff are aware of our agreed discount with local bus operator First Bus 20% and that we are actively working with other operators to secure similar discounts. (Information is available in our staff financial wellbeing factsheet under the Transport section). |
Continue to work with CHR to investigate the possibility of introducing an interest free loan for staff to purchase public transport season tickets. |
