Our Staff Travel Plan - helping to change how we travel

Our Commuter Champions

Our previous Travel Plan was developed in 2008 to help support and promote more sustainable commuting options to staff. These options also promoted better health and wellbeing and highlighted how staff could reduce their carbon footprint and the environmental impact from individual car use.

As that plan was out of date and our Glasgow Transport Strategy (PDF, 533 KB)(opens new window) - committed us to updating our approach given the current climate emergency - we started work on a new plan as it was critically important that we looked at ways to facilitate the reduction of the carbon impacts of council related travel (both staff journeys to work and business travel.)

To help us develop our plan we needed your input and we did this through a quick and easy staff travel plan survey carried out at the end of 2023. Your feedback into your current travel patterns and choice of transport - when travelling to your work place and whilst at work, was vital to helping us shape our new Staff Travel Plan and consider new and existing travel options, schemes and other travel measures.
