The Maryhill TRA covers two areas separated by historic Maryhill Locks on the Forth and Clyde Canal: to the South of Maryhill Road and North of Maryhill Road at Gilshochill.

Regeneration

The aim of the TRA is to transform the area and provide a new sustainable mixed tenure community which can benefit from links to the canal and River Kelvin.

Development works have been carried out by Maryhill Housing Association (MHA) and Wheatley Homes Glasgow generating over 225 units for social rent and affordable housing at the Maryhill Locks.

The regeneration of the Maryhill Locks has progressed with the completion with MHA Botany Corner site (Phase 7) delivering the 62 unit mixed tenure development.

A further 73 units were developed by BIGG Regeneration for private sale.

Maryhill Housing Association (MHA) are progressing a  feasibility for mixed tenure developments for the final two phases at Maryhill Locks - Collina Street and Maryhill Cross. The later involves land consolidation of several derelict properties.

  • The Pilot self build project: The Pilot Self Build project at Bantaskin Street is also continuing on site, with the first completed in late 2021 and 4 other well advanced on-site.
  • The North Maryhill Blue-Green Infrastructure Vision: The North Maryhill Blue-Green Infrastructure Vision has been developed and a design team have now concluded with the submission of the Planning Approval in Principle (PPP).
  • The first phase of Green Infrastructure: The first phase of Green Infrastructure works funded by Vacant and Derelict Land Investment Programme (VDLIP) will go onsite November 2024.
