James MacGregor was a corporal with the Royal Engineers. He was the son of Thomas Cleland MacGregor and Mary Cross MacGregor of Overdale, Giffnock. He is remembers at Thornliebank Parish Church and was a former member of 39th Glasgow (Thornliebank) Company of Boy Scouts.
