What is it?

An exemption or discount from Council Tax can apply where a young person is no longer under Local Authority care.

The person must:

• Have been looked after by a Local Authority on or after their 16th Birthday
• Be under 26
• No longer be looked after by a Local Authority

How does it work?

You will need to apply for this exemption/discount as this may not be automatically granted.
