Fuel Poverty and Energy
What is it?
A household is defined as being in fuel poverty if it is living in a home which cannot be kept warm at a reasonable cost.
Fuel poverty is driven by a combination of four factors:
- income (earnings and benefits)
- energy costs
- poor energy efficiency
- how energy is used in the home
