As an organisation we have a key role to play in helping our citizens to reduce private vehicle journeys to meet the climate emergency. The council have set a target to reduce private vehicle kilometres travelled in the city by 30% by 2030.
With 66% of our workforce living in, and travelling across the city regularly, we want to encourage you to travel as sustainably as possible. However, we recognise that some of you may still need to rely on the car for certain journeys.
You told us...
"31% of you use designated staff parking facilities at our locations"
"Electric Vehicles are too expensive......I would like to move to an EV, but the cost prohibits it"
"I would like EV infrastructure provided at blocks of flats - my flats were built in 2019/ 2020 but have no provision so I can't have an EV vehicle"
Continue to work with our CHR team to investigate the feasibility of introducing an implement a new vehicle salary sacrifice scheme July 2025. |
Work closely with the Glasgow City Region to look at investment to install more Electric Vehicle charging points across the city - including in residential areas. |
Make sure that our staff know where to access key information on sharing car journeys through our partnership with SPT Journeyshare. |
